The transmission with single chainring, used for years by many top riders in World Cup cross country competitions, is now available for all enthusiast riders who wish to improve their mountain bike to the maximum level.
Carbon-Ti presents with X-Monoring Titanium a new range of single chainrings compatible with all 10 and 11 speeds groups on the market. The single-chainring semplifies the gear shifting operations and permits to eliminate the left shifter, the cable and the housings and of course the front derailleur.
Furthermore the X-Monoring Ti is directly engaged on the crank of the most popular cranksets with removable spider like Specialized S-Works Carbon, Cannondale Hollowgram SL e Truvativ/SRAM XX1, X.0, X.9, X.7, S2210 (just like the successful X-Ring Titanium Integral) allowing a further weight saving.
The chainring grade 5 titanium made ensures an excellent wear resistance and stiffness, far superior to any other charinring aluminum alloy made. A large number sizes are available to adapt the best ratio to each type of track: 32.33. 34, 35 and 36 teeth. For an optimum reliability is highly recommended to mount the chain-guide.
X-Monoring Titanium are 100% designed and made in Italy just like all the Carbon-Ti products.

The italian company (from Brescia) Carbon-Ti will introduce at Eurobike exhibition in Friedrichshafen (Ger) from 29/8 to 1/9 2012 (booth A1/421) the new mountain bike X-Hub MTB SL.
The X-Hub MTB SL, designed and made entirely in Italy, is considerably stiffer, faster and lighter than the previous one and it is positioned at the top of the market. The goal has been achieved thanks to the new AL7075 axes with variable thickness increased to 17 mm diameter, to the high quality Enduro ABEC 5 bearings, to the central body lightened by meticulous works with CNC machine. The oversize geometry of the flanges assures an essential stiffness for the 29er wheels assembly. The useful "Bearing Preload System" is adjustable by hand without the use of any tools.
The freewheel is provided by a 28-tooth titanium ring and four pawls. The X-Hub MTB SL will be available in standard and thru-axle QR15 and X-12 versions.

Generally in the period of the world cup finals the top riders of the official teams are riding the innovations that will be presented for the following year.
Actually this year we did not expect to find many new features this year World Cup finals in Val d'Isere and unfortunately our predictions were confirmed. The 29-inch mountain bikes this season are become the majority, almost all of the top elite man are riding on them, although there are exceptions like the Scott Swisspower Team that rides on the unpublished Scale 27.5" (that will be
presented soon for the 2013 season) and Julien Absalon faithful to his 26 inches Orbea Alma.
It is curious, however, the return to the victory in the U23 category of Gherard Kershbaumer riding back to the Bianchi Methanol SL2 after a season actually less triumphant than the previous one in which he ran with the Methanol 29er. 26 inches also for the two talented Braidot brothers that come paired together third and fourth to the finish of the Under 23 race.
Obviously not all riders adapt to the big wheels, even if not a few are attracted from the undeniable advantages of 29er bikes in several situations.
The first groups SRAM XX1 begin to appear on bikes, we have discovered in race on Nino Schurter's and Florian Vogel's Scott Scale 650b.
At the finish appeared the Scott 650b that Nino will use in London next week, in all-black color with the Swiss flag.
XX1 also for the beautiful Emily Batty riding his brand new Trek Superfly SL Pro with the new 2013 iperlight frame of 896 grams (claimed), easily recognizable from the previous model for the smaller size of the tubes and for position of the rear caliper.
We have found in the Cannondale stand Fontana's and Fumic's Flash 29er with custom color of their national team ready for the Olympics. Single-chainring for both, but this time with SRAM X.0 group (trigger) 1x10, conventional (FSA) chainring and MRP chain-guide. Brand-new even the carbon bumper Leonardi for Lefty.
Burry Stander and Christoph Sauser ride with single-chairings since more than a couple of seasons. Both mount Rotor oval chainrings, chain-guides cSixx, SRAM X.0 derailleurs and SRAM XX trigger shifters.
Sauser, well-known pioneer of lightweight parts, mounts as always on his Specialized S-Works Strumpjumper HT custom Carbon-Ti components (X-Lock Special skewers, X-Clamp 3 32.6 clamp, X-Cap Carbon steering cap).
The Swiss legend, that we are fortunate to be friends, explained us that with this stage closes its long series of World Cup races (he will do his last XC race in the XC World Campionships at Saalfelden) to concentrate himself full time to the marathons where he is currently the reigning world champion.
In the Specialized stand at last we find the Specialized bikes in color named "neon red" (a gaudy orange) that will mark all official Specy in race at the Olympics in London.

Campagnolo introduces its second electronic group Athena EPS, just nine months after the presentation of the Record and Super Record EPS.
Carbon fiber parts have been replaced by other in aluminum alloy with the intention to make this electronic group cheaper and in reach of a greater number of cyclists.
Functionality is the same, meaning you can shift one or more (or all) gears with a single button depression by merely
holding the shifter longer. It keeps the “Ride Back Home” crash protection, letting you put it in a reasonable gear
manually should you wreck and the system becomes disabled.
The front derailleur uses a special alloy of aluminum instead of carbon fiber. It has the same function as "self-trim" to
keep the cage aligned in the optimal position in relation to the gear in use.
Ergonomics on the shift levers are the same of Record and Super Record EPS groups which means that the shape and angle of the button are slightly different than the mechanical units.
We will use the same battery as the DTI for higher groups.
Weights, prices and availability are not yet available, we will update about them soon as possible.

SRAM is back again, after having introduced 2x10 a few seasons ago, this time is making things even simpler with a 1×11 setup called “XX1″.
It is a MTB transmission with a single chainring coupled to a 11 speed cassette. The rear cassette shows an innovative smaller gear of 10 teeth and an even more incredible huge 42 teeth gear. The XX1 group can be controlled by a Grip Shift or by a trigger shifter system.
The goal of the SRAM engineers is to build a group easier, lighter and more durable than any other.
XX1 cassette
The first and only of its kind, the XX1 cassette has a range of cogs from 10 to 42 teeth. The 11-speed X-Dome ™ offers an incredibly wide gear ratios, while maintaining up-shift and down-shift optimized. The main structure is derived from a single block of steel meticulously CNC machined, and the last huge 42-tooth sprocket is made of aluminum alloy. The claimed weight is about 260 grams.
Here are the details of the cog's number of teeth: 10-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32-36-42. It is important remember that due to peculiarities of the sprocket, you need a free wheel hub dedicated to mount the XX1 cassette, which at the moment is only available for the DT Swiss and SRAM hubs. Other brands will follow shortly.
XX1 crankset
The crankset driven by a carbon crankarm with removable spider, is characterized by a very particular chainring equipped with teeth in different thickness (alternate) which fit perfectly in the inside and outside chain links and which have the function to stabilize and prevent swings that may lead to the fall of the chain. According to the SRAM technicians this technology (X-Sync ™) would avoid the assembly of the chain guide that is indispensable with the traditional single chainring.
The chainring size available are 28, 30, 32, 34, 36 or 38 teeth.
The claimed weight of the complete crankset with bottom bracket is about 650 grams.
XX1 rear derailleur
The uncommon rear derailleur thanks to X-HORIZON™ technology keeps the chain gap constant across all 11 gears, providing fast, precise shifts. By limiting all movement to the horizontal axis, this design is faster, reduces shift force and eliminates ghost shifting. ROLLER BEARING CLUTCH™ technology reduces bounce and chain slap. CAGE LOCK™ technology makes wheel removal and installation easier than ever before. The claimed weight of the rear derailleur is 220 grams.
XX1 Grip Shift e trigger shifter XX1
This is of course a single command to change back only, available in grip shift or trigger. The first adopts a handle wide and safe as well as ball bearings provide zero friction or play-reducing the force needed to shift and promoting long-term performance under all weather conditions.
The trigger seems the copy of the XX model and adopt the same stylish carbon cover. It is compatible with the matchmaker mounting system.
XX1 chain
The chain XX1 collects the experience of a long evolution of SRAM products. It is a specific component for 1x11 with a new surface finishing to provide maximum strength and reliability. The closure is ensured by a 11 speed Power Lock.
The SRAM XX1 group will be available from October 2012.
